The Debio and Demeter brands

Through our subsidiaries Alternativ mat, Validus Butikkdrift and Validus Engros, the Validus Group ensures that consumers have access to organic and biodynamic products. The Norwegian Debio brand, the European Ecolabel, the Demeter brand and/or corresponding brands in other countries guarantee that goods are produced in an organic and sustainable manner.

Grønt punkt (“Green Dot Norway plc”)

Validus Engros and Alternativ mat take responsibility for recycling packaging through membership in Green dot, a privately owned non-profit company responsible for financing the recovery and recycling of used packaging on behalf of the industrial sector.

Miljøfyrtårn (“Eco-Lighthouse”)

Alternativ Mat and ten of VITA’s stores were certified as Eco-lighthouses in 2010. Eco-Lighthouse is an official Norwegian certification that proves that the enterprise operates in an environmentally friendly manner and has a defined and documented environmental profile. Certification entails that the enterprise must satisfy a number of requirements, including sorting at the source, energy consumption and health, safety and the environment.
